Tell me more about the consignment process

It's simple. Before we list your equipment we'll both sign a Master Consignment Agreement (MCA).  Your listing goes live, and we'll bring you offers from buyers.  

We don't get paid until you do!  Once you accept an offer, we wrap our fee directly into the closing process, it's seamless. 

Want to sell more?  Even easier; with a MCA already in place, just notify us you're ready to sell again and we can go straight to inspection & listing!

What types of equipment can I sell?

Boom and Bucket specializes in off-highway construction equipment, but we can also help you sell trucks and just about any mobile industrial equipment.

How do you estimate my equipment's value?

We combine multiple public data sets and your equipment's configuration and condition to determine both what you might get at an auction and what you should get in a private party sale.

Note that there is almost always a speed vs. value trade off. If you're in a rush to sell, just let us know and we can factor that into our pricing strategy. 

How long does it take to get my listing online?

Once you've signed your consignment agreement, our onboarding process gets started.  There are several steps to this process: 

  • Equipment Inspections - As soon as you've consigned the equipment, our Customer Success & Operations team will reach out to schedule your inspection.  We'll need to identify a date where the machine can be set aside for a few hours from its normal operation. 
    Our inspector will come onsite, gather information, paperwork, take oil samples, photos, videos, and complete a material condition evaluation of the equipment.  We ask that someone be on hand to operate the machine safely while we capture an operating video.
  • Need to list something faster? - Ask us about our self-inspection dispatch process!  Get a  form dispatched directly to your mobile device, submit on your own time, and you're listing will go live in less than 48 hours!
  • Listing Process - Our inspections process is conducted digitally, and the information, photos, videos, etc are automatically uploaded to our system.  Our quality control team curates the data points & information for a high quality & holistic web listing.
  • Listing goes live! - Once we're finished it will go live on our site, boomandbucket.com as well as some marketing channels.  We'll send you an email notifying you that the listing is up on the site. That's it, our sales & marketing engines go to work and we'll bring you qualified offers as they come in. 

I'm selling a piece of equipment as a private party. Can I list it on Boom & Bucket?

While we may offer this functionality in the near future, at this point in time Boom & Bucket only sells equipment that has been directly consigned to us. The reason for this is we have strict processes for vetting each piece of equipment that we make available for sale and go to great lengths to gather in depth information such as inspection reports, maintenance history and oil analysis.

How does the Performance Pledge work?

If we haven't gotten you an offer greater than the liquidation value of your machine in 90 days, we'll contact you and give you the option to de-list your equipment at no charge - you can even keep the inspection we performed. You can also continue listing with us, or if you need to get cash out of the machine, we'll move your machine to a digital auction and reduce our fee!
