AAMVA & NMVTIS, what are they?
The American Association of Motor Vehicles (AAMVA) is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization developing model programs in motor vehicle administration, law enforcement, and highway safety. The association also serves as an information clearinghouse in these areas and acts as the international spokesperson for these interests.
They administer and manage the National Motor Vehicle Title Administrative System (NMVTIS), designed to protect consumers from fraud and unsafe vehicles and to keep stolen vehicles from being resold. NMVTIS is also a tool that assists states and law enforcement in deterring and preventing title fraud and other crimes.
How do I know your vehicles have clean titles?
Before listing any item on our site that has a state issued vehicle title, Boom & Bucket conducts a check from approved providers in the NMVTIS system. These reports are available directly on the machine listing. We will never list anything for sale that doesn't have a clean and transferrable title.
What's included in a NMVTIS report?
NMVTIS records provide:
- Current and previous state of title data
- Title issue date
- Latest odometer data
- Theft history data (if any)
- Any brand assigned to a vehicle and date applied
- Salvage history, including designations as a "total loss" (if any)
How does Title transfer work?
Boom & Bucket is a registered automotive dealer in the State of Arizona and is certified to process title transfers on behalf of our customers.
Because each state has different documentation requirements and processes, no two transfers look exactly alike. Whether it's an electronic transfer or a manual reassignment through our main office, we've got you covered.
We strive to complete Title reassignments as expeditiously as possible, however due to the variability of requirements and process in each state, we cannot guarantee a timeline. It typically takes several weeks before the fully transferred Title arrives at the buyers location, but we can often have that completed in a matter of days!
